Dentist Kate Craig, DMD, Joins Laurel Dental in Sullivan County
By Kristy Warren
This spring, Laurel Health expanded its primary care and dental services to Sullivan County, Pennsylvania when the former Sullivan County Medical Center and Sullivan County Dental Clinic transitioned to Laurel Health’s ownership to become one unified health and dental center named the Sullivan County Laurel Health Center.
We are excited to share that dentist Kate Craig, DMD, has joined the Sullivan County Laurel Health Center, located at 217 King Street in Laporte, PA. She is accepting new patients of all ages.
Dr. Craig provides comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages through diagnostic evaluations and preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry. Her services include:
- Tooth and gum treatments
- Fillings
- Crowns
- Bridges
- Oral surgery
- Endodontics
- Extractions
- Cancer screenings
- Dental healthcare education and preventive wellness strategies
Her call to pursue a career in dentistry came early, as she hails from a dental practitioner family. “I was drawn to dental medicine because I saw the need for providers who are kind and make people feel comfortable,” Dr. Craig shares. “I began my career in public health and am thrilled to be back—it feels like coming home.”

She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
“I’m especially passionate about oral cancer screening, as I've seen more than my fair share of oral cancer in my career,” she explains. “I also am very committed to making my patients feel comfortable and confident, whether it’s a routine checkup or a complex dental care procedure like an extraction.”
Prior to joining Laurel Health, she worked in private dentistry practices and federally qualified health centers, including Union Community Care. Her focus on improving patient access to quality care also led her serve on a mission trip to Jamaica. She has presented research at the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research conference and served as Vice President of the Luzerne County Dental Society. In her free time, Dr. Craig enjoys spending time with her husband and four young children. They enjoy hiking, biking, and attending their kids’ sporting events and school activities.
