About Jessica Lonzi-McVay, LCSW:

Jessica pursued a career in mental healthcare where she can listen, offer support, and help patients feel heard when supporting them through difficult times in their lives, especially when they might otherwise feel isolated or misunderstood.

“So many of the things we go through, whether personally or through loved ones, can deeply affect how we see mental health and the importance of support,” she shares. “My personal experiences growing up showed me how important it is for people to feel heard, understood, and supported—and how powerful it can be when someone has the right support and guidance during those challenging moments. It motivated me to help others navigate their own mental health journeys.”

Drawn to rural healthcare for its ability to build community, Jessica appreciates the opportunity to really connect with each patient and help them feel supported. She enjoys providing patient education to compassionately guide and encourage individuals, helping them feel truly heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives.

“I find it very rewarding building connections with people and seeing the progress they make over time," Jessica adds. "Even small steps, like becoming more open, gaining confidence, or learning healthier ways to cope, can make a big difference in people’s lives. Being able to witness that growth and knowing that I played a small part in helping them get there is incredibly fulfilling.”

In her free time, she enjoys activities that keep her active, creative, and inspired, especially traveling with her husband and two sons to experience adventures together and try new activities as a family.
