Laurel Health to Host Women’s Health Day August 19 in Mansfield
By Kristy Warren
Preventive screenings and wellness exams play important roles in keeping us healthy, but it can be tempting to put off preventive care when schedules are busy. Women often manage healthcare appointments for their entire household yet frequently put their own wellness care last on their busy to-do list. Laurel Health wants to change that by encouraging women to prioritize their well-being and making it easier to stay on top of wellness care.
The Mansfield Laurel Health Center will host a dedicated Women’s Health Day on August 19, 2026, from 9 am to 5 pm at 416 S Main St. in Mansfield, PA. Appointments are recommended to reserve a specific timeslot and can be scheduled at 570-662-2002. Walk-ins are also welcome but will need to wait in the LHC waiting room for an opening in the schedule.

Our Women’s Health Day event will be spearheaded by Marcelinda Griffiths, certified registered nurse practitioner (CRNP).
Marcelinda is passionate about women’s healthcare and has over 25 years of expertise in providing women’s health services to patients of all ages. She has an extensive background in critical care nursing and women’s health services.
“Nursing has always been my love and passion,” she shares.
“It is rewarding to care for each patient and provide resources to help optimize their quality of life wherever they are in their journey toward better health.”
During this event, she will provide wellness screenings, patient education, physical exams, and treatment for a wide range of women’s health issues, including:
- Menstrual problems (e.g., heavy bleeding or painful periods)
- Perimenopause and menopause, including symptom management and treatment options like hormone replacement therapy
- Education on preventive screenings (when to begin and how often to get them)
- Cervical cancer screenings (pap tests)
- Birth control, including the different types of contraception available
- Incontinence (involuntary loss of bladder control / urine leakage)
- Breast exams (physical palpitation of breast tissue to check for lumps or changes)
