Clinical Specialties & Areas of Focus:

Jessica Prutsman is a licensed professional counselor (LPC), who is focused on treating adolescent patients through our school-based Laurel Behavioral Health program based in Tioga County, PA. She has in-depth experience working with children and young adults to tackle a wide range of mental and behavioral health conditions, including grief, stress, anxiety, and depression.

Jessica provides personalized counseling to youth and is particularly passionate about helping patients struggling with anxiety or depression“I struggled with my own mental health as a teen, and through therapy, I was able to see my own strength. I became a licensed professional counselor because I wanted to be that light for someone else,” she shares.

“Life can be extremely difficult, especially when it comes to things that are out of our control," she adds. "Taking the time to ask ourselves tough questions helps us process and learn to cope in a healthy way, which allows us to live better lives and pursue our goals and dreams. I love seeing my patients’ confidence grow as they find what works for them. I strongly believe in accountability, boundary setting, and finding a life balance that works for you.”

Jessica values building a trusted patient-provider relationship and is dedicated to improving access to mental health services in rural areas. “There is something about a small town that you cannot find anywhere else. I grew up in the area, so practicing with Laurel Behavioral Health allows me to come back to my roots, and I’m eager to help improve access to these important services for those in need.”

In her free time, she enjoys game nights, movies, new experiences, reading, and spending time with her friends, family, and dog Max.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University in Pennsylvania.
